Grab a cocktail and join Dashwood Studio at the Club Tropicana for a colourful new fabric collection that’s a summer essential for fun makes. The creative work of British designer Stephanie Thannhauser, the new range includes a vibrant collection of prints on a tropical theme, with toucans, parrots, butterflies and exotic birds joined by juicy watermelons and pineapples – and it's named after one of our favourite summer tunes too!
Discussing the new collection on her blog at www.ric-rac.co.uk, designer Stephanie admitted the Eighties number was on her mind when she was working on the fabrics.
‘I couldn’t stop singing the Wham! song,’ she says. ‘I’ve often got a song in my head related to the design I'm working on. Sometimes it can be an earworm that just won’t go until I move onto something else!’ Club Tropicana arrives in fabric stores this month (find it for £3 a fat quarter at www.plushaddict.co.uk) but thanks to the lovely folk at Dashwood Studio, we’ve got four fat quarter bundles of every print in the collection to give away.
