Pretty Patches - April, 2017

April, 2017

I love flowers and have always been a little bit obsessed with floral

prints. Whether we’re talking big, beautiful blooms, retro-style graphic designs, sweet little ditsy prints or extravagant, old-school florals, I can find room in my life for all of them!

Inside this issue

I’m thoroughly pleased to report, therefore, that this issue of Pretty Patches celebrates the very best of fabric-based flower power. From Jo Avery’s bright scrap-pieced cushion, which offers a glorious way to use up leftovers, to Debbie von Grabler-Crozier’s stylish cross-body bag, embellished with our free fabric blooms, and Melanie McNeice’s super-cute toy snail in floral prints, there’s a treat for every flower fan in this issue.

With spring finally (whisper it!) here, we’ve also included an array of fresh ideas to capture the spectrum of colours that emerge at this time of year, including Thomas Knauer’s stunning Palimpsest quilt, Malka Dubrawsky’s colourful craft bag and Pam and Nicky Lindott’s lovely Tutti Frutti quilt, which can be stitched in a weekend thanks to some nifty piecing techniques. As ever, we bring you the very latest fabric eye candy too, including Tilda’s gorgeous new Circus collection, Lewis & Irene’s Paracas line, which embraces the current interiors trend for cactus designs, and our pick of the many fabulous boho-style prints currently vying for your attention on fabric shelves.

Happy stitching!
